Yes, the handle and the tip which is so tiny I'm forever burning my fingers. When I unplug it to cool and put away the handle is still hot long after the barrel has cooled off. It does not grip the hair very well and the whole thing is hard to hold on to due to slippery surface. I love this brand (I have one of their flat irons and a set of hot rollers) but this particular iron (and I have been thru many in 34 years) is terribly designed, unfortunately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bloomie from Great iron. Not sure about durability. This is my all time favorite curling iron, HOWEVER , they keep breaking on me after only a year. Super frustrating .. they do have a 24 month warranty so this time around I'm going to be on top of things and send them in. As far as use goes, it's fantastic. It has good slip. When compared to my bionic or my hot tools iron the curls just stay longer!
