Volume Maximizer is a lightweight volumizing spray for all hair types and textures that adds weightless, flexible volume to their hair style.

What It Does

• This volumizing spray has instant results for thicker looking and thicker feeling hair, whether air dried or blow dried.

What Else You Need to Know

• This volumizing spray is evenly distributed in a fine mist to give weightless, all-over body with a crunch free finish. It can be used to add volume to air dried or blow dried hair styles.

Spray onto damp hair and comb through. Air dry or blow dry style as usual.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not my favorite I've used a lot of volumizer products and honestly I just didn't love this one. The nozzle sprays almost too much product at once. I ended up putting it in my hands to disperse it. I was afraid my thing hair would be too greasy if I sprayed it throughout. It didn't necessarily give me a ton of volume either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Straight Hair No Longer Limp This works really well on straight thin hair. It leaves hair looking a bit more voluminous and full bodied. The spray comes out a bit heavy and in a direct line as opposed to diffused. I really like it and will continue to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great! My hair is straight and very thin, it's really tough to find a product to give my hair volume, doesn't feel sticky or that weights my hair down. When I try the Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray I was really surprised how on how nice my hair looked with a lot of volume. I tested in 2 ways, I blow dry one day and the next time I let it air dry and and in both times the spray gave my hair great volume, of course I got more volume when I blow dry it. I wash my hair every other day, and my hair still had volume both times, when I blow dry and when I let it air dry. Too bad I had to give it a 4 start because the of the spray valve, it doesn't spray as normally a spray would do, but it instead it just shoots out straight if like the valve it's defeated. But overall the product is great and it really works!

Needs to be bkow dried to get full volume affect but if used wet and air dried will give the hair soft texture. Only reason for 4/5 was because my nozzle stopped working! Not sure if its a faulty part or poor bottle quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from NOT FOR SUPER FINE HAIR! I really wanted to like this product but sadly I don't. I use other redken products that I love! However, this product is too heavy feeling in the hair and doesn't work on fine or super fine hair. I tried this on several of my finer hair and thicker hair clients and my fine hair clients hair fell flat almost immediately after blow drying. I had to spray it into my hands and apply it that way because it applied too much product spraying directly onto the hair and scalp. The product left my hands and clients'hair feeling sticky. Once dry, the hair had a gritty and heavy feeling to it which actually made the hair less voluminous and harder to put volume into.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! I naturally have thick hair but have lost some due to after effects of Covid. I sprayed on the ends of my hair where I am lacking volume and it's amazing! I'm going on day 5 since shampooing and it's held the curl (although more like a wave now) and didn't weigh my hair down! Only thing I wish was different was how it sprays out. It doesn't cover a lot of surface area so it gets a lot in some spots and none in another. I sprayed in my hair and combed it through!

The spray nozzle squirts out doesn't mist out. My guest said it felt like she was being picked in the head. I got better results by putting in my hand then applying to hair.

I've only used a couple of times, so I'm still getting used to it, but I know it will probably become a staple in my hair routine.

I am always looking for the next best thickening product for my fine haired clients who just can't seem to get enough volume, so I was really excited to try this one, but I wasn't as blown away with it as I was hoping. First off, the product appeared like a thick serum in the bottle so I was hesitant to see it spray through the nozzle pump top. When I began using it, my fear did come true - the product came out in a stream rather than an evenly distributed spray, which was pretty disappointing. Although, I do feel that the product did do what it was intended to do by adding volume to the hair, I wish the spray nozzle worked better. I don't think this product is intended to act as a root boost where one would apply it to targeted areas of the head where desired volume is needed, so next time I will have to try applying product to my hands then applying to hair in order for the product to be evenly distributed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No teasing required Redken Volume Maximizer Thickening Spray didn't make my hair greasy or sticky like other products I've tried in the past. It gave just enough volume to my mid-back one length hair and I don't have to tease my hair to keep it voluminous. Its jell-like consistently is easy to spread to the root area although I have a hard time spraying it evenly to my roots, it come out more like a jet stream rather than a mist. Packaging aside, I really like the product and would recommend it to everyone to check it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! Most products like this weigh my hair down but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't. It gave my fine hair nice volume & defined my natural wave/curl. My only complaint is the way the product sprays out of the bottle in a stream. It must be sprayed into the palm of your hand & worked into the hair but in my opinion would work better if I could just spray it onto my hair. Overall I like it & will continue to use it!

You have to push it down and its like a stream that comes out and then you have to wait for the top to go all the way back up before you can spray again. Rather than a stream, a mist would be better.

Another goodie to recommend. Not sure if leaked or is only filled to the level seen in the photo, but it wasn't full to the top.
