1. Wear suitable, disposable gloves, and avoid metal tools. For one application, mix 1 oz of Shades ALK Haircolor with 1.5 oz of Redken Pro-Oxide Cream Developer 10V (3%).
2. Use exclusively with recommended Redken Pro-Oxide Cream Developer, 10 volume (3% maximum). Use only the proportions indicated.
3. Standard processing time is 20 minutes at room temperature. Rinse hair well after the processing time.

A: More than ever, hair color clients are looking for the secret to healthier looking hair . They don’t only want to conceal their first grays, they also expect shine, hair that feels hydrated and has vitality with restored movement and bounce. Shades ALK provides all of these benefits plus a lower commitment than permanent hair color by offering an easy transition with grow-out compared to a full coverage permanent color.
A: Shades ALK has 1-level lift vs. 2-level lift from a traditional permanent color, and it features colored coverage vs. full coverage.
A: To cover gray means to minimize the contrast between natural hair and gray hair. To what degree that contrast is minimized is the difference between coverage that is translucent to coverage that is opaque and everything in-between. Shades ALK provides colored coverage, with superior performance with N, NA, NCh, NB, GI shades.
A: Shades ALK N, NA, NCh, NB and GI shades have been formulated to provide up to 75% gray coverage when mixed with 10 volume. They have not been validated for use with higher levels of developer. If you are looking for more coverage or prefer to use 20 volume, we recommend using a permanent haircolor such as Color Gels Oils.
A: The 1:1.5 mix ratio ensures a product consistency that is creamy and thick, yet easy to apply with bowl & brush and bottle and to pull through the ends. Additionally, it provides the optimal rate of dye oxidation and up to 75% coverage within the 20 minute development time for robust, saturated results.
