But be aware it can be too "heavy" for some clients and can put too much protein in their hair. But if you're looking for a good repairing shampoo this is it!

I have very bleached hair and have noticed how strong my hair is since using this shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo suds up nicely even on the first shampoo. It has a light spa smell and leaves my hair feeling clean, healthy, stronger without weighing it down at all. I literally go a week in between washes! I really do recommend and love this shampoo!

Because of this it is essential to use good quality products that are gentle and repairing! This does have protein in it which is very beneficial to compromised hair like mine, but should not be overused or it will dry it out. I like to alternate this shampoo with a regular hydrating one. It smells so good!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect packaging, awesome recovery for hair. I am I licensed stylist who actually worked in a Redken exclusive salon for the first 5 years of my career long long ago. I currently still use Redken products on myself at home tho also. I had been using the Redken PH acidic line of conditioner and the Detox clairfying shampoo. my hair is extremely oily, but it's split dyed currently. so half my hair is blonde and half my natural brown. it's extremely fine already but damaged and breaking more so due to illness and medication. My review of the Redken Extreme Shampoo new size bottle- it's Awesome!! I really loved that the material is on the thinner side. It makes it so much easier to squeeze the bottle to get product out than normal bottles. For someone like myself and tons of stylists who have hand issues from decades of work, this is a huge help. 10/10 for packaging and the upgrade in size as well. As for the Extreme Shampoo itself, i feel it's even better than what I remember using long ago. Very rich lather that's concentrated enough where you don't blow thru the bottle too fast. You can tell it's pH balancing to the hair. I can actually feel the difference. I usually first shampoo my hair with a clarifying or detox shampoo by Redken or Ouai. sometimes twice, to remove all the buildup of oil and product. Then, I go in with the Redken Extreme shampoo and conditioner. After using a clairfying shampoo , hair can feel very tangled and dry. The extreme shampoo immediately made my hair feel like it's healthy and stronger and balanced without feeling heavy, and oily like I'm going to have to immediately wash my hair the next day. I really like the scent of the Extreme line. Its very light and clean smelling. I am extremely reactive to scents. I personally can't use the pink oil line by Redken because the scent alone makes me sick. This scent is great, mild. After using the Extreme line, my fine thin oily hair actually had more volume, I can see a noticeable difference in the strength in my hair and taming the crazy fly away broken hairs. I prefer this line over olaplex even. I have used the Extreme Shampoo about every 3 days since getting the VoxBox and I still have about half the bottle left. I use a ton of shampoo tho. Overall, very impressed and excited to rekindle my love for the Extreme line by Redken. I think the new bottle size and packaging is awesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great product I really liked this product a lot. It was not drying at all, and I feel like it made me hair very soft, and it was just as good as other high end shampoos. My only complaint was that it’s not paraben, sulfate, or phthalate free, so it made my scalp extremely itchy! So for that reason I will be using it as needed, and not everyday. The smell is great it’s very strong so if you are sensitive to smells just obviously smell it first. Other than that I would recommend if you have damaged hair!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great and affordable but not good long term This product is great to use a few times a year (alternate once bottle is empty because the results don’t stay amazing for long, not sure why). I’ve purchased this before when it was the older style packaging. I really like these bottles and how easy the bottle is to squeeze the product out! The older bottles were a stiff plastic that was super hard to get the product out of! It smells really good and I love how my hair is soft and shiny after the first use. For some reason repetitive use of this product doesn’t give you the amazing results as the first couple uses (for me anyways) and notice my hair start to gum up over time , yuck. It works well to use as a once a month treatment or every other week rather then every wash. It’s not a product that I would purchase again whilst I really love products that give me the same amazing results every time I use it and after continuous use.
