Extreme Play Safe is an all-in-one powerful solution for damaged hair. This leave-in conditioner and multi benefit treatment works to reduce damage, strengthen hair, prevent breakage, all while protecting from heat damage up to 450 degrees F.

What It Does

• Reduces the appearance of split ends by 70%.

• Protects hair from heat damage up to 450 degrees F.

What Else You Need to Know

Extreme products feature protein-infused formulas to restore hair strength and prevent breakage and split ends. Clients saw a 75% reduction in breakage with a system of Extreme Shampoo, Conditioner, and Anti-Snap.

Apply to clean, damp hair prior to blow drying or heat-styling. Leave in. Do not rinse. Style as usual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this as another option Right away, the smell, is so good. I like the creamy texture of it. I applied it after the shower on wet hair. Blow dried as usual. TBH, the first time I used it, I must have applied too much. It made my hair greasy, but I learned the next time to apply a smaller amount. It did help moisturize my hair and seemed to protect my hair from the heat. I like that it has multiple uses in 1!

This product is a game-changer for anyone with coily hair. It gives good heat protection, while smoothing my cuticle to repairs my hair, leaving it softer and more manageable. The formula didn't weigh down my hair and it reduced frizz even on my split ends. I love that Redken made this a leave-in treatment, that I can use in my hair care routine and in the salon also. Overall, Id recommend the Redken Extreme Play Safe Leave-In Treatment to fellow coily-haired individuals looking for a reliable and effective product.

Aside from using it on myself, I've actually used this on clients after washing their hair whether it was a haircut service, balayage service or toning to see how well it worked for different clients and services and the results are pretty consistent! It leaves hair feeling soft, manageable and definitely helps w the detangling. Clients really love the difference it made to their hair and would consider buying this!

I felt like it left the hair feeling healthy and soft which I often miss when I blowdry my curly hair. I loved that it had heat protection up to 450 that way if I wanted to do iron work after I could without feeling like I need to add more products

This is a non-aerosol product in the consistency is out of a light lotion. It's pretty lightweight and does seem to offer a bit of structure for finer textured hair although I definitely wouldn't classify it as being in the realm of a volumizing product. (Which it doesn't claim to be) it also leaves the hair feeling soft after it's dried. Overall I thought this product worked well, had a nice smell, and I would use again.

I don't know how to describe but if you put it on damp hair it will have no problem spreading out and being able to be combed through also . It leaves a layer in the hair to protect from the heat but I really like this because redken is a fantastic professional product that you can trust and this just has a conditioning effect when it's on Damp hair which is really hard for bleached blonde hair like mine . Over all 5 stars absolutely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great Redken product! Heat protectors are the foundation of healthy hair!! This one is lightweight, non greasy and doesn't weight my hair down. After washing and conditioning, I apply a little bit of a leave in conditioner, and then directly before blow drying my hair I apply one pump of this all over, concentrating on the ends. Very happy with this product and would purchase although given that only a small amount is needed, I do think this bottle will last for a long time. The pump applicator is also extremely convenient.

The consistency is nice, smells pretty great, pretty good heat protection(far as I can tell). I think the only thing I didn't love, was that it didn't leave the hair feeling quite as soft/silky. I did add some oil on my clients ends to help out with that. I do feel it cut down my blow dry time by a few minutes!
