What Else You Need to Know

Color Extend Graydiant features an anti-yellow purple shampoo and color-depositing purple conditioner to brighten and strengthen gray and silver hair. Color Extend Graydiant is formulated with Citric Acid & customized violet pigments to transform gray hair and for 2x stronger* hair strands.

 

*When used as a complete system of Graydiant Shampoo and Conditioner

Use as a complete system with Color Extend Graydiant Conditioner. Wearing suitable gloves apply to wet hair lather and rinse well. Repeat if necessary. For maximum benefits leave second lather on 3-5 minutes. Rinse. Follow with Color Extend Blondage Conditioner.

 

CAUTION: This product contains ingredients which may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness. Avoid contact with eyes and skin (other than areas of application). If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Keep out of reach of children. Do not ingest. Wear disposable gloves when applying. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not use on sensitive or irritated scalps. Perform the following skin allergy test 48 hours before each use of this product as allergies can develop suddenly even though you have previously used a haircolor product from this brand or another.

 

SKIN ALLERGY TEST: With soap and water wash an area the size of a quarter in the bend of your elbow. Pat dry with absorbent cotton. Apply product to test area using an absorbent cotton-tipped applicator. Let test spot dry. Do not wash cover or disturb for 48 hours. Examine test area periodically over the next 48 hours. If you experience any reactions - such as redness burning itching swelling skin abrasions eruptions or irritation in or around the test area you SHOULD NOT USE THIS PRODUCT OR ANY HAIRCOLOR UNTIL AFTER CONSULTING A DOCTOR.

I was not expecting anything different from the usual purple shampoos I have tried and was pleasantly surprised that this shampoo not only improved my hair tone but also did not dry it out which is important since I have very dry hair to begin with. I used it together with the gradient purple conditioner. I would definitely wash my hair with this shampoo instead of another I had been using because it left my hair with shine and moisture, something the other purple shampoo could not do. I definitely recommend it over other purple shampoos!

However, the pigment to pull out yellows and keep grays looking fresh isn't the greatest. There are multiple other blue or purple shampoos that get the job done better.

First time in the shower with this bottle I went the whole nine yards and put on my rubber gloves to apply since the shampoo is purple and memory of prior purple shampoos have left their stain on me (I found out after the second use that gloves where not required for me, since no residue stayed even in-between my fingers). End result..I love it! Assuming I share enough qualities with grey hair such as coarseness, this shampoo and conditioner duo has left my mane shiny, sleek and extremely smooth feeling like I just ran my straightener over my hair which I most certainly have not! Love being able to look forward to shampoo days without the dread of heat damage!!!

It has a nice smell and it didn't seem to dry out the hair like some do. I think I expected it to be a little more blue tinted. The conditioner, on the other hand, has a bluish/grey tint to it that I love. I felt like that gave my silver/grey haired clients more toning.

I found the shampoo to be very hydrating and helps to keep my blond tresses in order. I prefer this shampoo over the blondage, despite the fact they look very similar. Thanks redken! You nailed it with this one.
