Redken Blonde IQ 8 is a dual-action oil-powered system designed for advanced neutralization and up to 8 levels of lift, engineered for precision cream glide with a conditioning-cream texture*. The proprietary technology efficiently drives neutralization power to the hair’s core, breaking down eumelanin and pheomelanin for the most neutralized blonde.

Perfect for a balayage, on-scalp regrowth, and freehand painting. Blonde IQ 8 should only be used with Redken Pro-Oxide Oil Developers (10-30 Volume) to guarantee the precise results you expect.

What Else You Need to Know

Redken Blonde IQ 8 delivers 8 levels of lift for the most neutralized blonde, engineered for precision cream glide. Its formulation is suitable for all hair types and textures and maintains curl definition. It’s ideal for stylists seeking a precision cream for balayage, on-scalp regrowth, and freehand painting.

• Prepare and apply the mix in a well-ventilated area. Do not use metallic tools (tongs, comb, etc). Prepare the mixture by taking the bleaching cream first and then by adding the oxidant on top of it. Keep the container well-sealed in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat and light.​

• Use exclusively with the recommended Redken Pro-Oxide™ Oil Developer, maximum 30 volumes (9%) (maximum 20 volumes (6%) in case of on-scalp application), and the covering accessories indicated​.

• Mixing ratio: 1:1.5 to 1:3.The use of 30 volume developer is limited to the mixing ratio 1:1.5 for off-scalp application.

• Maximum development time: 50 min. Do not apply heat during the development time. Do not exceed the development time and rinse hair very carefully with lukewarm water. Use immediately the mixture after preparation and discard any leftover mixture.

It was hard to get a smooth consistency, so I had to add more of the developer to get a creamier feel. I used this on a dark hair wig, and it lifted nicely but not super bright. It was able to lift about 4 to 5 levels. I was surprised how beautifully the color came out, it didn’t look to brass. Overall I really like this product.

I used it for foil highlights on a level 6 client and it lifted beautifully. I was impressed to get that kind of lift using 10 volume. The cream consistency is smooth and easy to mix with the developer. I found that a small amount goes a long way so this jar should last quite a while. I like that this lightener really maintained the integrity of the hair. I can't wait to use this on more clients.

Was very gentle and conditioning for this application. On my dirty blonde client it did very well on her hair. Toned out the brassiness as claimed and left a nice neutral blonde tone. On my red head client I wouldn’t use it again. I prefer a blue or violet based bleach for red toned hair to help counter act warmness. With 10 volume developer it didn’t reach high enough lift and was slow. Left the hair orange and needed additional product added to the foils. Would continue to use it on my dirty blonde clients looking for a few levels of lift.

This has a beautiful thick consistency that you can mix at a 1:1-1:3 ratio. This lifts to a perfect blonde compared to other lighteners I’ve used. I noticed this also didn’t leave any brass. Also, the hair felt softer compared to other lighteners. I would definitely buy this product and recommend it to anyone looking to lift massive levels without the brass. I loved this product so much especially the consistency and levels of lift!

I used the 10 vol they sent with it, however I would probably use 20 next time. It does leave a greasy film. I think we washed 3 times before it was fully out. It lifted well. Client was maybe a level seven to start. I used this to lighten before vivid. No scalp irritation where she had some with other lighteners. Overall I liked this lightener and will use again
