What Else You Need to Know

Redken Blonde IQ 7 delivers controlled brightening and uniform predictable results for all hair types and textures. Its formulation is ideal for controlled lightening services, as well as natural highlights, traditional highlights, color correction, and natural dimension.

Wear suitable disposable gloves. ​Mix product in a well-ventilated area. ​Follow mixture ratios carefully, or damage to hair or scalp including irritation, hair loss or chemical burns could occur.

1. Put the recommend amount of Blonde IQ ™ 7 Lightener and Redken Pro-Oxide™ Cream Developer 10V (3%), 20V, (6%), 30V (9%) or 40V (12%) in a non-metallic bowl.

2. Blend until smooth consistency is achieved.

Application and rinsing: Wear suitable disposable gloves. Do not let product run onto scalp. Do not use metallic tools (clips, combs, etc.). Do not use heat. Rinse hair well after development time. Follow with shampoo. For off and on scalp applications.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Controlled Lightening I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. There were things I loved about this product and things I think could be improved. The packaging this product comes in is one thing I hated as the lid did not stay on tight. The measuring cup included is standard in comparison to other measuring cups. The mixing ratio for this product allows for a great consistency that gives you more product/services for your money. A pro and con with this product is that in comparison to other lighteners, it does not swell like I am used to, so I found myself in the testing phase of this product going back through foils to get the lightener closer to the root for my highlight applications. I liked the final result of using this product on all hair types, but believe to get the desired results without heat, it took the maximum processing time for all applications I did during the trial period. This product paired well with Olaplex. I would be open to trying Redken lightener in the future, but this product did not make me want to switch from what I am currently using.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gentle but slow lightner I received this product in exchange for an honest review and this product is NOT comparable to Up To 7 original. This product may eventually lift 7 levels, but very slowly with a roller ball. I would recommend this for high damage clients who have a naturally light base, or if you needed to lighten damaged ends carefully. The product doesn't smell funky, mixes very creamy and smooth, and does not swell. Overall I do like the results, this is definitely a wonderful second place lightner for specific clients, I just do not feel this could replace my go to without adjusting timing/possibly double booking for processing time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This lightener is great if you note that it isn't for pale blondes. To get that sunskissed look for for highlights on brunettes this works wonders. Its super creamy and thankfully it doesn't swell in the foils so the risk of slipping is minimal. Even when used with 30 volume it does not lighten super fast so you dont have to speed foil!!!! It also doesn't dry out super fast for hand painting

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Redken Blonde IQ Lightener+30 Vol Developer 7/10⭐ Used this on medium brown hair and it lifted… okay. It definitely lightened but pulled pretty yellow/orange compared to higher lift lighteners I normally use. I personally prefer a 9-level lift because this one didn’t get quite as clean or bright as I like without needing extra toning. That being said it’s not awful at all. The consistency mixed nicely, applied evenly and didn’t seem excessively damaging during processing. For someone doing basic lifting or not trying to go platinum in one session then it’s decent imo Pros: Smooth creamy consistency Even application Didn’t feel overly harsh on the hair Reliable basic lift Cons: Pulled warmer/yellower than I expected Didn’t achieve a super clean blonde on medium brown hair Needed more toning than I would have preferred Overall: solid but not my favorite. Gets the job done it's just not as bright or clean as stronger 9-level lift lighteners out there. I'd give it like a 7/10.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Addition Redken Blonde IQ 7 lightener combined with Pro Oxide 30 Developer does it's job really well and leaves the hair soft, maintaining it's integrity. Thank you Redken for kindly providing this product free for review through Bzz Agent. The application was even and there was no swelling or dry out which is super important. You have the choice to mix 1:2 or 1:3 ratio depending on application. I think the 1:2 ratio had a more desirable creamy effect, but not messy. Timing is more on par than with than 1:3 mix which does take a little longer processing. No heat is to be used. It does leave consistent results with desirable lift in one shot with no brass. I also use Wella and Matrix, but will definitely purchase and add this to the collection as a trustworthy, reliable addition. I would recommend this.

The texture is a little thicker than my preferred lightener but it does what it needs to ! Will it replace my fave lightener not at all but if you’re new to lightening look into this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BiQ7 Blonde IQ 7 is one of the most creamy lighteners I've work with in a long time. It gave me a predictable, even lift, while keeping the hair in tact and moisturized. The speadability was great and the fact that the lightener did not swell gave me the option to do a base color, hi-lite, and low light all at the same time. BiQ7 reminds me much of Blonde Icing from years ago, but with better technology.

I really like the consistency and the lift is even without any swelling. This would be perfect for someone that doesn’t want to be platinum blonde. My mind wasn’t blown, but I definitely will add it to my rotation.

Maybe more for brunettes that want a touch of lightness. It did not swell which was nice but I feel like it took longer than my usual lightener to get to the desired tone which one of my clients was not happy about. 🫠

I used this as open air and it lifted quickly and nicely. smell was not too bad. I'm a huge Redkin fan and can't wait to use it with my regular formulas. I would definitely recommend.

I mixed 1-2 & actually thought it may be too runny still, but went with it & foils did not slip. I thought the lift using a 30 volume developer would be a little quicker, but with no heat, I guess have to give it time. There was no swelling which is always great. Hair felt fine but I did use a bonder. I do feel if Redken was doing an upgrade in this day & age, a bonder should be included. Didn't like enough for me to switch from my ammonia free bleach.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn’t notice the neutralizing effect I found that the consistency of the lightener is very nice and smooth and doesn’t have that powder puffing everywhere. I did feel like the 1:2 mixing ratio didn’t really work out for me with the consistency, I preferred a 1:1. I did like that the lightner doesn’t have a chemical smell and it does not swell up. I didn’t feel that the lightner has a neutralizing lift. I find that this lightner is very gentle on the hair, so if you are looking for a gentle lift only a few levels with undertones, it would be the perfect fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must use 30 volume This bleach is very nice, and works very evenly. I tried it with 20 and 30 volume, the 20 volume does not lift well. Maybe if I had given it an extra 15-20 minutes to process it would have? But it was already in my foils for 40 minutes. Using it with 30 volume worked much better this is why I gave it 4 stars, I don’t want to use 30 volume if I can help it. The hair felt fine afterwards, and it did manage to keep the good to a minimum.
