Blonde IQ 5 High Lifts should only be used with Redken Pro-Oxide Cream Developers (20-40 Volume) to guarantee the precise results you expect.

What Else You Need to Know

Redken Blonde IQ High-Lifts delivers synchronized lift and tone in 1 step and delivers dimensional results for all hair types and textures. Its formulation is ideal for 1-step lift & tone service on virgin hair and root regrowth.

• Wear suitable disposable gloves.​

• Mix 2 oz. (60ml) of Blonde IQ™ calibrated anti-brass high-lifts with 4oz. (120ml) of Pro-Oxide™ Cream Developer.

• Use exclusively with the recommended developer, 20 – 40 volume (12%) maximum. Do not use with hydrogen peroxide greater than 40 volume (12%). Use only in the proportions indicated. Always use after mixing.

• Application and rinsing: Wear suitable disposable gloves. Do not use with metal tools (clips, combs, etc). Process at​ room temperature for 45 minutes. DO NOT USE HEAT. Rinse hair well after the processing time.

It would not be good for hair any darker. I did like the consistency and application also. Overall a pretty good product for lighter hair when you don’t want to use lightener.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good option for an express service I received the Blonde IQ 5 V complimentary for my honest review. I don't use high lift hair color often. I find that lightener typically gives me the best results. However, I did like the consistency and how easy it was to apply to the hair. It also wasn't too thin. What I liked most about the product was how well it toned and lightened all in one. The hair felt in good condition when done. It definitely saved some time instead of lightening and toning. It seems to work best on a natural level 7 or above. Anything below a 7 and it's just too much for the product to bring it past the brassy undertones. I would recommend this product for clients who need more of an express service and have a level 7 or higher natural hair. I gave it 4 stars since it states it will lift at a lower level.

The formula lifted my hair evenly while keeping brassiness under control, which is usually the biggest challenge with high-lift blondes. Instead of ending up with harsh yellow or orange tones, my color came out cooler, brighter, and much more natural-looking. What stood out most was how smooth and conditioned my hair felt afterward. It worked great on my level 7 hair, but does not lift great on darker hair. I would definitely use this on lighter levels to achieve lift with less damage than other lightening products.

While this may be okay for gentle or slight lightening I would not classify this as a high lift or use in place of lightened. Especially for clients that already pull brassy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Creamy and pleasant I received a full tube of N and 40vol from bzzagent and salon centric to try in exchange for an honest review. I tried this High-Lift on a natural level 7, medium texture client. I did a few test strips to see if it would work for her style preference. It definitely did not lift as well as my usual lightener (as seen in the picture) It lifted about two levels and still remained brassy. I’m not sure how it would ever be able to lift up to 5 levels… especially since it specifically says “Do not use with hydrogen peroxide greater than 40 volume (12%)”. It seems like it would be great for all over color except that I am always hesitant to apply anything over a 20vol directly on to the scalp, and it still may not get as light as expected. It was creamy and easy to apply smoothly and evenly. It has a pleasant fragrance similar to other Redken Hair Color. I do mostly foil highlights, bailage, and freehand lightening. I will do more research to see what type of client would benefit from this, but for now I will stick with my usual product. I would recommend this to stylists that are looking for an alternative to Lightening Powder. Three stars due to not being a good fit for my services.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will Use in the Future Thank you Redken for allowing me to try the Blonde IQ High-Lifts Natural & Pro Oxide Cream Developer 40 Volume in exchange for my honest review! The creamy consistency was easy to work with, it spread evenly and wasn't to thin or runny compared to other high-lift formulas. The balanced tone looked brighter, cooler, and not as brassy after processing, therefore there was no need for excessive toning afterward, the results came out bright, clean, and even. The hair felt healthy and soft after using the product, not dry or overprocessed, and the shine was beautiful!! The fragrance is amazing and makes for a much more comfortable experience than the usual strong ammonia scent. This is a great product for anyone wanting strong lift with more controlled neutralization.

This worked well considering I tried it on hair that had permanent color on it. Not sure I would repurchase unless I had a specific client with virgin color.
