Direct Method:
• This is the most commonly used application for acne, texture, and anti-aging.
• Insert the desired electrode into the handpiece.
• Turn the unit on with intensity at “0.”
• Drape clients skin in gauze or wrap end of electrode in gauze.
• Touch the electrode to the client’s skin before increasing intensity to avoid sparking.
• Slowly increase power to a comfortable level.
• Glide the electrode across the treatment area using slow, even motions. Avoid lifting electrode to avoid zapping client.
• This method is ideal for oily, acne-prone, or congested skin.
Indirect Method:
• This method is recommended for dry, dehydrated, and mature skin.
• Insert the desired electrode into the handpiece.
• Ask the client to lightly coat their hand with talcum powder, then hold the glass rod.
• Turn on the machine with intensity at “0”, Increase to client comfort once client is holding electrode.
• The current will pass gently through the client’s hand and body to support massage stimulation.
