Application: Clean dry or damp hair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 9v What I thought was interesting was when mixing the 9v, it was a metallic light purple in the bowl. When I applied to the hair it turned clear so you can see the tone change. I processed the full 20 minutes. I don't think these are as strong as Redken shades toners, or the matrix 5 minute toners, but it did have a slight toning power. It wilould have it place and time for people with porous hair who grabs toners quickly.

Plus the "real-time visible oxidation" is awesome at letting you know when its done visually. I would use this toner in only certain situations though but still really liked my results.

Having the gel consistency made it extremely easy to use and to be specific with placement and have plenty of control. Like most toners, it processes for 20 minutes. I have only one complaint about this product that knocked a star off. The packaging. While it looks really beautiful and intriguing to a new buyer, the plastic is way too excessive. I go through toners like no one's business and I can't imagine ALLLLL that plastic that I, myself, would go through, let alone, so many other stylists across the nation. Definitely not necessary.

Tried 7NA which was perfect .. gave her a great ash tone without being washed out looking & is a very teeny look right now which she loved. And also 9V which def took all brass out of the post lightening and it wasn't too violet, it was subtle and gorgeous. Easy to mix w the matrix developer. I DEF recommend!!!! Cons; the plastic boxes they come in are slippery and I drop them constantly, just be careful because they do crack if you drop them and you can cut your finger open (like a paper cut, except w thick plastic).
