What It Does

• Provides up to 9 levels of clean even lift with 79% less breakage*

 

• Lifts the darkest bases to platinum in one service

 

• Pre-Bonded with citric acid + glycine to protect bonds to keep fibers strong – no bonder additive needed!

What Else You Need to Know

• Ideal for all hair types including dark bases and all hair patterns

 

• Ideal for all lightening techniques •Hair feels healthy and moisturized + looks shiny after use

 

• Fast initial lift + controlled remaining lift

• High Riser Pre-Bonded can be used on all starting levels including levels 1-4 when maximum lift is desired.

 

• When using on lighter levels (5+) it is recommend to use either 10 or 20 volume Matrix Cream Developer and to check lifting action frequently.

 

• For Balayage and/or Free Hand Techniques: Mix High Riser with 10 20 30 or 40 volume Matrix Cream Developer in a 1:1 ratio. Process for up to 50 minutes depending on desired results. Do not use heat.

 

• For Highlights in Foils: Mix High Riser with 10 20 30 or 40 volume Matrix Cream Developer in a 1:1.5 ratio. Process for up to 50 minutes depending on desired results. Do not use heat.

 

• For On-Scalp Applications: Mix High Riser with 10 20 or 30 volume Matrix Cream Developer in a 1:2 ratio. Do not use 40 Volume. Process for up to 50 minutes depending on desired results. Do not use heat. Do not cover the hair. Do not gather hair in a bun.

I decided to test it on myself first as I have resistant hair And wanted to see how my hair would respond. I used 1:2 w 20 volume and left on for 50min (per instructions). I checked it about every 15mins as some areas around the hairline did tend to dry out a bit and needed a refresh, and also to see what areas were developing faster/slower, etc. A lot of products say they lift 9 and don't, so I was happy w the results as my brown hair at the root is very resistant. I finished w beige blue toner and the result is perfect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bonded for real! My favorite thing about this lightener was how soft and hydrated the hair was after rinsing out, it didn't leave any tangled and was so easy to brush after! The cons with the lighter was how thick it got, and so if you are doing just a bleach out, it dries up way too fast. I would use this on someone who had fragile hair!

The results are even and beautiful. I was impressed with the level of lift achieved. I obtained the color and lift I intended. I will continue to use this lightener and I will recommend it to others to use.

Didn't dry out in the foils or seem to cause an extensive amount of damage. The only thing I don't love is right after you mix it expands and is full of air. It gets very thick and you have to remix it together which is fine but it usually Looks that way after about 20+ mins of sitting. But overall is a great product and I'm excited to use it again.

I was hoping this one would change my mind, but it was a disappointment. It's good if your client is already naturally a level 7 or higher but not if darker.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works ok A lightener that's specifically for lower dark levels, intriguing. Over all this is a fine bleach. It does the job of a lightener. I can't say I was blown away by it. I had to take really small sections to get maximum lift, which is fine. I don't love that there are so many different kinds of Matrix lighteners that I have to have 4 different products in stock that all claim to be better for a specific thing. In the end they are all bleach. I do like that this has bonder. But it does claim to have more than other formulas...probably because its more aggressive for the darker levels so I would be cautious using on lighter clients. It works but probably wouldn't go out of my way to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Favorite Hairspray I was very pleasantly surprised by this new hairspray, Matrix has definitely upped their game these last few years. If you're a Vavoom hairspray user you'll love High Riser. It's lightweight, buildable, brushable and smells ahhhmazing! Also, as with all Matrix products, the value and quality is there. I would also say High Riser is comparable to (even better than?) another flexible hold hairspray whose line is known for their signature scent but High Riser doesn't break the bank.
