Before a color, balayage or lightening service:

• Spray (Mist) on dry hair, focusing on the lengths. Keep the trigger spray 8 in. away from hair.

Using this spray before a chemical service at first seemed odd to be applying something that mists the hair but it works!!! I highly recommend this product. So happy I tried it. Definitely a game changer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for blonding When this line came out, I was curious. I am a regular Malibu C user. While I don't think this will replace my Malibu treatments, I appreciate that I can achieve somewhat similar results in a shorter amount of time. I would consider using this line if my client is in a hurry but I still want to prep their hair before a color service. It does leave the hair feeling soft and It has a nice scent!

I live in an area with notoriously hard, well water but really everyone has metals in their hair and this whole system helps your color turn out better and the condition of the hair is so great afterwards!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! This pre-treatment comes ready to use. It's as simple as spritzing on the hair before applying color or lightener. Just to note, the smell isn't remarkable; it neither smells good nor bad. All that you have to do is separate the hair into quadrants, separate each quadrant into subsections, and missed from route to tip. After I did this step, I ran my comb through my clients hair just to distribute the pre-treatment evenly. Let it air dry 3-5 minutes, then start the color/lightener application process.

I have platinum blonde hair and I’m a natural 7 and have hard water here in San Diego. THIS CHANGED MY HAIR BEFORE MY EYES GUYS! I sprayed it on my hair dry (I was starting to see some chemical brass build up) brushed it out and let it air dry and went back to the mirror and was shocked! I had to look at it in different kinds of lighting to make sure I wasn’t just seeing things by power of persuasion. This literally brightened my hair without doing anything else yet (like shampooing with Malibu he’d water wellness). You need to buy this for your blondes!

I don't feel like I'll be able to tell if the metal detox worked without dealing with her hair multiple times before and after the treatment.

Metal Detox Pre-Treatment spray is such a timesaver! When it comes to getting the truest desired results for my guests, I can't always trust what they say is on their hair - this product prevents redos and any unwanted tones after lightening and toning. The metals in our hard water where we live can leave such a strong residue and discoloration when lightening. I will use this product every time before highlighting, balayage, and other lightening services!

I've used another brand for a lot of years, and will continue with that brand. This isn't a bad product, and would be good in a pinch, but I prefer my other brand.
