Before a color, balayage or lightening service:

• Spray (Mist) on dry hair, focusing on the lengths. Keep the trigger spray 8 in. away from hair.

• Short hair - 8-10 sprays.

• Long hair - 15-20 sprays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Pre- Service Product I recently had the opportunity to try L’Oreal's Metal Detox Pre-Treatment.  The fragrance is a little strong for me but not the worst.  It's a nice a pre-service to use to help get a more even color with lightening and/or coloring especially with blondes.  I would definitely recommend using this product especially with the full Metal Detox line.

In the past I have tried other brands that offer similar claims, but nothing compares to the performance that Metal Detox provides. Whenever I spray this on before my highlighting services, all of my clients lift so evenly and beautifully. I would recommend this to anyone who lives in an area like mine that has hard water. You will not be disappointed and your clients will notice the difference at their next color service!

It is easy to use, and doesn't add to much extra time . Nice product to use when lifting blondes for a even tone. I would definitely recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well for even color results I’ve used this product in the past, usually before lightening to make sure the lightener doesn’t have a reaction to any metals that may be on the hair which could cause breakage. More recently I’ve been using it to pretreat the hair for my permanent color services because I’ve been getting inconsistent results even with clarifying the hair before application with metal detox shampoo. I’ve found it helps get more consistent, even results. I will continue to use this product.

I didnt notice a difference in my single color service, but along with the line on my client with well the hair felt good. Glad I can try it out before purchasing.

While it sprayed on and distributed evenly, I can't say I really noticed a significant difference. One client did appear to have nice shine but it was a darker color which tend to have increased shine anyway. I will continue to try it on some of my highlights and bleach client, as I think it might have more effect on those. As for the price, it seems a little high for me to justify.

Easy to use, doesn't add a lot of extra time to service. Color seemed more even. Great product to use when lifting blondes for a nice consistent tone. Will be using on all my color services. I would definitely recommend!

Some of my clients don’t use professional shampoo and conditioner so sometimes I get a small reaction when lightening or because of their water. When I apply this, I literally get NO reaction of any sort. It’s a game changer. The only thing I’m picky about is the film It leaves on the hair also like if I’m applying a salt spray to the hair, but other than that It works amazing

The color on my client came out the same way it always does and it didn't feel any different either. The only thing is that my client kept saying that her head was itchy and said that the other times I've done her hair that it's never itched so much and this product was the only new/different thing I did compared to all the other times.

I used this just before doing a highlight on a client and their hair lifted quickly and evenly. I noticed the toner took much better, as well. Their hair felt really great afterwards and was much more manageable to cut and dry/style.

The product preforms as it’s described and it does a great job removing minerals and making hair look and feel healthier and Improves the appearance of hair color and longevity as well.
