Before a color, balayage or lightening service:

• Spray (Mist) on dry hair, focusing on the lengths. Keep the trigger spray 8 in. away from hair.

This pretreat spray goes on easily and it doesn't take much to lightly saturate the hair so it doesn't take much extra time to perform before the service. Depending on hair type it can dry a little crunchy which can make the hair a little hard to work with depending on the service-- like foiling-- it was a little challenging. You do not see any visible change or anything from this spray so you just have to assume that it is doing its job! Using it as recommended and along with all the other metal detox products though is the key for great results and enhancing the color service.

I also noticed it took out the full tinge that covered the bottom half of my clients hair. Very impressive. My only complaint is that when using this with fashion shades, it would help to have more clear instructions for usage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy and so effective! This product couldn't be more effortless to use. As per the instructions, they say to spray on the amount needed and let it sit for 3-5 minutes. I spray this on my clients before I go into the backroom to mix their color, therefore giving it enough time to work it's magic.

Used this before lightening and i feel like it may have helped the process. It is a lil crunchy before applying when dry. She had previous black box and a fashion blue. Overall I liked it. Def gonna keep using it. The hair felt amazing afterward too!

And then comb it through the hair and apply the color. There was not too bad of a smell to the product. On its own I'm not sure how well it does.

When it was time to wash, dry ,and style very minimal hair was left in the bowl or brush . So i definitely recommend using this product to minimize breakage/ damage!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it with bleach but not color! Used the metal detox a few different ways! Used on a client who's hair turned green. Client has well water and on a vacation her hair turned very green. I sprayed her with the pre treat and let it dry. Shampooed and applied the mask. The green was gone and her hair felt great! Next used the detox on a client who was taking a lot meds due to her cancer. Her blond highlights had turned very brassy. Spray her with the pre treat and highlighted her hair. Shampooed with the detox and conditioned . Her hair looked fabulous, brass was out and no breakage. Next used on a client who had highlights, color and lowlights. Used the pretreat and shampooed with the metal detox. After the shampoo I feel that it washed out her lowlights. I would not used with color again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Metal detox Pretreatment This is genius. Typically I would do a Malibu treatment prior to coloring to remove any metal buildup or hard water. When metals mix with lightener the hair becomes very hot, drips, and can become over-processed quickly. Not having to do a shampoo and a Malibu treatment under the dryer for 45 mins, then dry and lighten saves so much time. You just spray the pretreatment on the hair to neutralize any metal buildup on the hair, then proceed with lightening. It's a time saver and game changer! Follow up with the shampoo and mask for increased softness and shine.

This is a game-changer compared to other products that require extra steps that take so much time. I'm hooked on the ease, and results. So far, I've gotten clean lift when paired with lightening services and I don't have to worry about metals reacting in the hair.
