1. Separate wet hair into 2 sections


2. Apply 2 to 4 pumps per section depending on length. Work the product through lengths and ends for 1 to 2 minutes until a light lather appears. Detangle.

3. Do not rinse. In a layering technique, apply Metal Detox shampoo directly over the top, then rinse and follow with the routine.

I’ve been using it for years, but this new pre-treatment is great for using to fill the porosity of the hair. You really feel a difference on the dry ends when you use the pre-treatment followed by the shampoo and mask just another great product to add to the line I’ve already been using.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My hair feels good but still has yellow in it. I let my hair grow out white and it was always great, no yellow until the last couple of years. I bought this kit to get rid of the yellow I now have and it just is not working. My hair feels good, but I'm afraid I will have to start coloring it again or cut it short which I don't want to do. I am really disappointed as I bought a large amount of this and I have worked on my hair this week and it may be a tiny bit better but not much. I also should have bought the silver conditioner rather than the shampoo. That probably would have worked better since it stays on my hair for a few minutes, definitely longer than the shampoo does.

This was so much more convenient than using a malibu treatment. I also use the shampoo, mask, and oil from this line. This was effective for me, my hair felt clean and voluminous after using. I skipped the malibu before highlighting, hair lifted amazingly well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like the Results but Not the Ingredients I was very excited to try this product as I reside in an area that has very hard water. I wanted to use this treatment on my daughter's long, fine virgin hair that appears dry and dull. We had a fun spa night where I applied this treatment as directed in the instructions on wet hair in 2 sections and worked it through to create a lather. I then combed the product through with a wide tooth comb. The product has a liquid jelly feel and spreads easily. Then applied shampoo over the treatment and scrubbed her hair clean. We conditioned as usual and blew it dry. Her hair felt like it had drastically improved in appearance and texture. Her hair appeared smoother and lustrous. She loved it! I then looked at the ingredients because what is in this stuff that gives it this magical power? I was very concerned to find products such as glycine, amodimethicone, and other silicones. Ultimately she probably won't continue to use this treatment but it was a lovely boost to her look and confidence.

L'Oreal Metal Detox claims to illuminate radiance and prevent breakage. I found these claims to be true. I don't use a lot of products but we have very hard water. Over the years, my hair was starting to dull with the hard water. This pre shampoo treatment revitalized my dull, frizzy, stressed out hair to sleek, silky, soft locks. Very impressed and will buy again!!

Her hair seems to be slightly healthier since she's started using this preshampoo, and it doesn't seem to be so dingy. I think it also made a difference this time when we did her highlights.

It does seem redundant to add another step to an already effective system, and I tend to forget to use pre-shampoo products. But it's good to have on hand for the extreme cases.

I love this entire line actually. My hair has never felt better than after using this weekly (or as needed) in combination with the acidic bonding shampoo and 5 minute mask. I can literally feel the strands of my hair being stronger.

You just apply to wet hair lengths and ends, lather for 1-2 mins and then apply shampoo to the top without rinsing first. And it helps fill hair porosity for less water absorption, making dry time a lot quicker and hair a lot smoother.

I do feel like it removed the chlorine buildup but couldn't tell much difference from when I use my normal clarifying shampoo 2x.
