How To

Create looks on all hair types in just minutes. Get started with just 5 easy steps:

1) Remove water tank from SteamPod and fill with distilled water.

2) Return water tank to SteamPod.

3) Turn switch on. Choose temperature depending on hair type.

4) Take thin sections of the hair.

5) Clamp each section in between the SteamPod plates, then run through hair slowly. Ensure arrows on SteamPod point downwards.

This steampod is so much faster than even my Chi flat iron for getting amazing results (either flat or curled!). The steampod uses steam that gave me immediate results! You add a little water, pop the water holder on, press the on button and within 2 minutes you're ready to go. Each time I grabbed a new section of hair, I only had to make one pass which is amazing for the health of my hair. Especially since I have damaged, bleached hair. This steampod would be awesome for anyone with colored, curly, wavy or straight hair to prevent heat damage. I think every member of my family would love it!!

I'm not usually into straightening my hair, but I tried it and it worked well at smoothing out any frizz and lasted all day. This is now one of my favorite tools for hair styling.

The Steampod definitely is learning curve on how to properly use it, but once you get a good grip on how it works, it does wonders. With the product being analog I found 390°F was a good ground for me to go through and work quickly. You really only need one pass to get the job done, but I do wish the assembly that holds the plates were a little more narrow for a tighter curl. I have had a pleasant experience with the unit and definitely would consider buying it again, and would recommend it to my clients as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SL10 from Excellent! This product is amazing! The difference in texture and health of the hair after using this is instantly noticeable when compared to a regular flat iron. It is a bit larger, so it takes some getting used to when curling. I have long wavy medium density hair and I appricitate the shape, it allows me to get close to the scalp without getting to close and causing my hair to be to flat. Don't let the size intimidate you, it is very comfortable in the hand, and doesn't weigh anymore than others. I wish it came with a storage bag/pouch. Overall excellent product!

I originally had used it on average medium to fine hair and it seemed no different then any other flatiron. But I used it on a client with highly textured hair and was blown away. I was able to straighten 95% of her hair with just one pass! The best part was how soft and flowy her hair felt afterwards. So much shine and movement! The flatiron has some bulk to it but definitely with it if you have texture, damage, or difficulty straightening your hair! Total game Changer!!

I am shocked by the Steampod. It's very efficient! It heats up quickly (display flashes until it's up to temp), temperature doesn't fluctuate, and it works very well (it is directional so make sure the comb faces down). The only con is the weight. The steampod weighed in at 1.2lbs it's competitors weighing in at 1/2 to 3/4 of that. The weight wouldn't be an issue if your using it at home on yourself but I can see it becoming an issue trying to use it in a salon. All in all it's an excellent flat iron.

It does have a few downfalls which is that I found it rather bulky and a little hard to get it really close to the root like a regular flat iron. Besides that it worked amazing. I used this on a friend who has 3b/3c curl pattern. The steam smoothed out her hair so quickly and efficiently. It didn't take a bunch of runs over her hair to smooth it out completely. 1, 2 and her hair was smooth. I would definitely recommend anyone to buy this, especially for textured hair because it left it so smooth, silky and shiny!

This left my hair so silky smooth that I could see this used in silk presses. This is great for getting your hair straight however I couldn't position it in a way to give me volume. Overall I will continue to use this both on myself and clients!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Z100 from Insane. I have to say, this is one of the coolest hot tools I've ever used. It may seem kind of gimmicky, but it actually does what it says! The iron itself feels extremely expensive and high quality. Heavier than most flat iron's I've ever used, but you actually kind of want the weight of it when you use it. You won't truly understand until you try it. Before you use the iron, you have to fill a little vessel to a fill line with special (probably distilled) water. The little water container thing clips into the handle. There's a little squeeze bottle that it comes with that makes it easy to refill with water, too. There are three heat settings that make it pretty simple to figure out. I don't know if its official, but I just use the lowest heat setting for fine or damaged hair, medium for medium or normal hair and the highest heat setting for coarse thick hair. Theres also a little on … switch. Its like a switch and a button to turn it on and off. Once you turn it on, the temperature flashes until its fully heated up, then the temperature stays steadily lit. It sounds like a steamer bubbling and heating up as it warms up. The inside of the iron, near the plates on one side, there's a removable comb that separates the hair for you as you slide the tool down the sections of hair. You basically only need one hand to use the tool which is pretty neat. There are also arrows that point the direction you have to go down the hair strand on the sides of the iron. You have to pay attention to those as you use it. The cords a decent length and I haven't had any issues with not being able to reach anything. I used it at first on a mannequin head before trying it in a client and was in shock. It glided through her raggedy hair so easily, almost as if it did it on its own and my arm was just attached. It sounds like a steam setting on a clothing iron and steam definitely comes out, but not much more than a regular flat iron. The result was a glass-like finish and the hair felt completely different in texture. Soft, silky, but not stuck to your head either. It still manages to leave a little bounce somehow. Using it as a curling iron definitely works too, however its best for longer lengths as the width of the iron is kinda wide. Shorter lengths its more of a waver. All in all, its price-y, but I say its definitely worth the splurge. It makes the hair feel sooo much healthier than a regular flat iron and the results last way longer.

Left it shiny and looking healthy. Only cons about it is there is a little hair tugging, it's a little confusing which way to hold it at first to have go through the comb smoothly, and it doesn't get super close to the roots. Other then that a great flat iron. Hair holds up well in hot/humid conditions when using this flat iron.

The first time I used it it was a little awkward but I got the hang of it quickly and it has been my only tool to use ever since. I don't have to fill the small (distilled) water reservoir very often. It will do my medium length hair several times plus a few in between. The comb on the iron is a definite plus. I can already see a difference in the health of my hair and the shine. I highly recommend the Steampod to anyone looking for a flat iron that will keep their hair healthy and gorgeous.

With the streampod I was able to rough dry the hair to 100% then quickly and VERY efficiently smooth out the hair. Often the hairline is a problem, but not the steampod. I loved how very little heat and passes I needed. The hair felt so good and looked shiny and healthy. Both my client and I would recommend to anyone who struggles with frizzy hair. 5/5 ⭐️

Rated 5 out of 5 by VonMo from Does exactly what it claims Let me start by saying that I absolutely loved this tool. It deserves the 5 star review! Buttttttttt... I had completely forgotten that I'd signed up to potentially review for this tool, so when it arrived without so much as an email or a single shred of instruction, I was completely puzzled. I'm not sure if mine came without paperwork because it was for me to review, but after a quick YouTube instruction, I was off to the races. I'm a salon owner and full time behind the chair hairdresser, so I brought it with me to work, excitedly opened it and realized I needed distilled water. Whoops! Went out and grabbed some and we were off to the races. The first person I tried this on was myself. I didn't trust the steam function at first, because anyone who's ever flat-ironed hair knows that if you even leave a drop of water in the hair, you risk steam burning your client. So at first, I worked with the comb away from the scalp, and smoothed out that way. Absolutely felt safe, nothing felt hot at all toward my scalp, and I worked through most of my hair before deciding to turn the comb and work steam side to scalp. Same experience! The steam stayed in the hair the whole time, off of the scalp, and I was left with very smooth and shiny hair! This lil gadget passed my first test, and now I spent the next week using on clients with all different hair types! I have to admit, I was expecting another gadget. I have seen and used so many gadgets to style hair, I really didn't think this tool was going to be different... it's absolutely different. I used it on people with long thin hair for curling, I used it on people with thick/coarse hair for straightening and smoothing. Each time I was impressed with the speed and ease of this tool, and the condition of the hair by the end. In most cases, it smoothed the hair entirely with a single pass! I had zero issues creating big beautiful curls and waves as well. I was quite impressed. The only thing I would say is a negative about the SteamPod is that the steam function is activated by closing the plates together, so in between sections when I put it in my toolbox holder, the steam kept flowing until I grabbed it back out again. For use in a professional setting, I would request that the steam is a function that could be turned off so you don't have to lay it down on a counter; but in a home setting, I don't think this would be an issue. After using it exclusively in the salon for about a week, I would definitely recommend this to other stylists especially if they have some clients with that coarser, thicker hair for presses, as it truly does leave the hair feeling better than a traditional iron, but also for someone who only does their own hair at home. In my opinion, you truly could tackle larger sections in one pass, making getting ready quicker and better on the hair. Still though: never forget your heat protectant! This stylist gives it 5 stars :)
