What It Is

Design Essentials Silk Essentials Strengthening Serum is a lightweight strengthening and smoothing serum that easily penetrates the cuticle and locks in moisture during heat styling, leaving hair shiny and full of body.

What It Does

• Improves hair manageability while imparting shine and a high-gloss finish

• Gentle lightweight formula is perfect for all hair types (can be used wet or dry)

• Protects from damage during heat styling

1. Place a few small drops of Silk Essentials onto palms and emulsify.

2. Apply to hair (wet or dry) from ends to scalp.

It is a product u have to use a very small amount…. that way it won’t weigh the hair down… but it made my hair look very healthy! I used this on my air dried waves… i honestly enjoy this.

This is perfect to throw into thick hair before blowdrying or even when finger combing your curls out. I think everyone needs this in their personal collection or for the salon. Smells absolutely amazing but not overwhelming and the hair just looks *chefs kiss* after. Go get this product!!!

Love the this oil I actually need more moisture because I lightened my hair. I did mix this with the other curly products I got in the box. Love this product highly recommend and smell is freaking amazing I’ll def be using on my daughters hair next

I wear my hair straight and it doesn't weigh it down. it's very similar to the chi oil. this is definitely a staple in my hair care routine. leaves it very soft and shiny!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great product for smoothing the hair and penetra as a licensed hairstylist this is a great product that easily penetrates the cuticle and strengthens the bond of the hair but also smooth out the hair and does not leave a greasy or nasty texture. The smell is pleasant but not the best smelling, but definitely not the worst. You only need a very small size amount when doing a full had no bigger than a nickel. Make sure to distribute through your hands evenly before pushing through your ends of your hair with your fingers. This is a great product for anybody that does chemical processes such as relaxers or perms.

I apply a small amount to the palm of my hands rub them together and then applying to the ends of my hair and then apply the excess through the rest of my hair. It is light weight and not too oily which I love. It gives my hair a nice shine and smooth look, helps to keep the frizz down. I received the sample size but I actually love how small it is because I can easily travel with it! I would definitely recommend this to those looking for a light weight serum to use before applying heat to their hair and especially to those with curly hair!

Using too much or putting on your roots may make your hair look oily. I applied midshaft to ends of hair and it left the hair sleek and shiny! Would recommend highly!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from adds shine and tames frizz Great product for smoothing and taming flyaways it added a nice silky texture. immediately I noticed it was quite thicker in consistency then some of the others Ive used, so at least for my fine hair it would be too heavy to use in dry hair, but worked really well in damp. The smell was great just clean nothing overpowering. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking to add shine and tame frizz! Will definitely be using to help tame my daughters wavy poofy mop!
