What It Is

Design Essentials Silk Essentials Strengthening Serum is a lightweight strengthening and smoothing serum that easily penetrates the cuticle and locks in moisture during heat styling, leaving hair shiny and full of body.

What It Does

• Improves hair manageability while imparting shine and a high-gloss finish

• Gentle lightweight formula is perfect for all hair types (can be used wet or dry)

• Protects from damage during heat styling

1. Place a few small drops of Silk Essentials onto palms and emulsify.

2. Apply to hair (wet or dry) from ends to scalp.

I’d say its good at hydrating you hair all day, but try not to get it near your roots because it will look greasy. Overall great oil/serum for thick hair!

I really enjoyed using this product. it's a great finishing product to add extra shine to your hair. it's not super heavy a little goes a long way. you can either put it on while hair is still wet or put some on when your done styling to give it that extra shine and moisture. It smells amazing. I would use this product again and possibly buy it in the future.

It adds a beautiful shine which most curls need and it helps smooth flyaways. I like to apply it to the ends of my hair when I blow it out since my curls are always thirsty.

I apply it to wet hair before blow drying and I apply a tiny amount after straightening the hair. It’s lightweight enough to use everyday with a greasy buildup.

And, it actually helps to set rollers without adding any water based product that will revert your hair. I use on dry hair as a heat protectant before flat ironing. Depending on hair length a little goes a long way. Medium length hair i use a nickel sized amount. Smells great. Leaves hair silky and shiny.

The hair did feel stronger and was shiny. The next day the client said hair was harder to wash because the ends were tangled. Overall a decent product, just didn’t work for my client that had finer textured tight ringlet curls.

It does have this faint smell Im not sure if everyone would enjoy it but it didnt bother me much. Definitely not for people that get oily hair fast because one time I did apply too much and it got really oily the next day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from eh This reminds me of bio silk. Very thick and easy to use too much. The scent is different which I didnt enjoy. I used it as a pre wash conditioner which worked wonderfully and seemed to wash nice out of the hair leaving it extra hydrated also without the scent.
