Rated 1 out of 5 by kasey from This dryer is a scam Tons of people reporting the same thing. These dryers do not work for very long. The first one I sent back stopped heating all together. The second one they sent me to replace it worked for even less time and it still heats and is actually too hot, just stopped having any wind speed. This is entirely too much to spend on a dryer for it to be so unreliable

Rated 1 out of 5 by annamichele from On my third dryer. Keeps breaking. Really wanted to love this product! I liked how lightweight it was and the shape worked for my hand. Then the heating system broke in the middle of a blowout 4 months after purchasing. I had the 10x for years and thought I would upgrade to the smartx. I am now on my 3rd dryer under their warranty but it costs $20 to send back! This is not a "professional tool" in the slightest. I don't even want it anymore but it was so expensive I'm stuck in a loop of the heating system dying and then paying to ship it to get a new one. Save yourself the time and (more) money - don't buy it!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Karen from Buyer beware!!!!!!!! I bought this dryer for around $400 and used it for less than a year when it started to stop intermittently and stopped heating up. I looked it over and cleaned it out as much as possible, checked the cord for cracks, and couldn't figure it out. I contacted the company and started a warranty claim (this dryer has a 10-year warranty), paid for shipping and insurance, and sent it in in good faith. The company never contacted me, but after a couple of weeks I contacted them, and they said they were declining to honor the warranty because it was a clogged filter (which it wasn't because I cleaned it b4 sending it in), and they do not cover that, and they would NOT be returning it or refunding me. They just kept it. After my first phone call trying to figure this out (which took nearly a week to get through to an actual human), I demanded to see proof of their claim and for them to return my property, and offered to pay return shipping. The person said their supervisor would have to contact me "that they had done all they could do". The "supervisor" emailed me a generic picture of a clogged filter without my blow dryer's serial number and refused to take any of my phone calls. I looked into small claims court and realized it would cost me about the same as a new blow dryer in time and court fees, and realized it wouldn't be worth it. After I went to Reddit, and apparently this happens to nearly everyone who has problems with this model. A 10year warranty is a great selling feature but costly to honor, so they don't, and now have class action lawsuits pending for this same reason. I'm not a part of the class action, but I will never buy another product from them again, and I have made it a point to tell everyone I know to steer clear of this model (and the company tbh). You've been warned......
