What It Is

Play Dirty is a diverse wax spray that can help shape hair into any style to achieve a chic "second day" look.

What It Does

Play Dirty gives texture, dimension, separation and semi-shine without product build up or stickiness on the hair. Great for someone who wants the feel of a wax but the application of an aerosol.

What Else You Need to Know

• Beeswax gives the hair a "take hold" feature and conditions

• Pro-Vitamin B5 adds thickness and moisture to the hair shaft

• Evening Primrose oil conditions and moisturizes

• Rosewood oil moisturizes and gives volume

• Lavender oil thickens and volumizes

• Shine- 4; Hold- 4

Shake well before use. Spray lightly into dry hair for added texture, volume and hold.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I gave it a good try… I held off a bit on posting a review because I really wanted to give this product a chance. I'll start off by saying that I received this product for free from Influenster and SexyHair in exchange for my honest opinion. So here's the gist... I wanted to love this, I really did. And boy did I try! For starters, I have very thick, long hair. I'm always on the hunt for products that will give me volume and texture. I'm also a hair stylist by trade, which means I've tried a TON of products. Thad high hopes for this one. Before I dive in to the cons, let's talk about the pros... The packaging - simple and minimalistic but yet classy and clean. Looks fabulous on display. The design of the bottle is great... Comes with a pretty hefty amount of product, definitely has weight to it, and the nozzle that dispenses the product is great. It dispenses just the right amount. The smell is clean, which is great for a texturizing spray. Here's where my issue lies, this stuff feels very heavy to me. While it's labeled “part texture spray/part sprayable wax", it definitely leans much more to the waxy side. Maybe it's user error, but this stuff makes my hair feel way too weighed down, and that's pretty hard to do considering that I have very thick hair. It also leaves a very greasy look, and I definitely didn't "over do" it. So as far as light texture goes, this definitely didn't give me that. On the contrary, I feel like this product would be fantastic for those who wanted a very piecey or even slick look. The concept is actually pretty cool! It's like a pomade or wax but in sprayable form, and that's pretty slick (no pun intended). Would I recommend? Maybe for the right kind of style. Do I think it has potential? Absolutely, but in my opinion, this should be more marketed as a spray pomade rather than a texture spray. Either way, I do enjoy SexyHair products and while this one may not have made the mark for me personally, I know that others love it.

It was a bit too waxy for my own hair to use at the root, but I can see this working well for extra texture or a second day hair feel if you’re looking for that. It’s not extremely heavy it’s just a bit waxy feeling
