How To

1 part Demi Gloss : 1 part Activator. Process for 20 minutes

The straight forward color selection makes keeping my color cabinet stocked and organized a breeze, while still allowing me to custom mix any tone I could possibly need. I love how soft and shiny this leaves the hair - It’s like a toner and gloss in one, with no harsh chemical scent. My clients actually comment on how nice it smells! Aside from its obvious use as an at-the-bowl toner, it’s also an awesome up-sell for clients who want to add a little shine and dimension to their color (great way to make a few extra bucks on a haircut service), or refresh their tone in between color appointments. I also use it as a filler on porous hair when doing tint backs. This product does it all!

Rated 2 out of 5 by chidarling from FAIL: great product, no use now this line was amazing. such rich tones & high glass-like shine from an ammonia-free demi. the liquid formula was great to apply quickly as a toner &/or from a bottle. the translucency within such a wide range of shades & levels was perfect for so many different types of color services. also so many cool tones to choose from & none would leave you accidentally green like with shades eq, not to mention the longevity is much more impressive. just an exceptional little color line. but pravana’s decision to cut this line down to 10 or so shades after the line had existed for only a year is a tragedy. it goes to show that while they succeed at innovating new color products with impressive technology, their lack of prioritizing education keeps these new lines & new products from sticking around for long. (eg: what happened to mood color? & does no one care about the blonde wand anymore?) a few live videos via social media is not a replacement for proper education. it’s obvious that they focus on creating new vivds shades (which, btw, can just be mixed from existing vivids shades - perhaps they can consider educatong stylists in color theory instead) & new half-baked technology for the sake of going viral (permanent vivids colors? great! but in only a handful of shades that are all similar? why even bother launching?) to appeal to younger stylists or those who just want the next new trend. but without backing these launches up with real education, fly-by-night stylists can easily misuse these tools & mistake them as poor products, probably resulting in poor sales & the pulling of the products altogether. i am a huge fan of the entire brand. i have even considered trying out to be an educator since i don’t see any of their educators focus much on the permanent/demi color line, which i love. i use all their lighteners, chromasilk permanent/demi line, vivids & color lush in my studio. but the feeling of being blindsided by them cutting the color lush line to shreds without even a hint to stock up beforehand was a huge let down to say the least. i’m not sure who is more disappointed; myself or my clients who loved their color lush services. i’m apprehensive to continue using a brand that doesn’t even pretend to have sustainability. what good is inventing new products that you don’t even believe in for more than a month after launch?? i’m currently looking into other lines. what i’ll lose in exciting new technology i can hopefully gain in reliability. i’m not here to flippantly move on from shiny new product to shiny new product, i’m here in the industry to stay - so, maybe i am just not their target stylist.
