2. Pump a small amount of the serum into your palm, adjusting the quantity based on the length and thickness of the hair.

3. Apply the serum evenly through the mid-lengths and ends of damp hair, avoiding the roots to prevent any buildup or greasiness.

4. Use any heat tool to style the hair. Heat will activate the hydrophobic seal, enhancing the serum’s effectiveness in controlling frizz and protecting against humidity.

I’ve been using the Mega Sleek shampoo conditioner for years so I was excited to learn about this serum. I don’t blow dry my hair, it usually air dries due to it being wavy, but I do straighten my hair or use my straighter to curl my hair and this works wonders in keeping my hair frizz free and healthy looking. I have learned that I can only use a little due to having very oily scalp, but I also try to keep this towards mid-ends to help it from being so close to the scalp.

It has a very light citrus scent, and light feel. The pump dispenser was easy to use making for quick application. I live in NC and it’s hot and humid. It’s been near 100 degrees most of July and beginning of August. I went outside on a hot day, and unfortunately the frizz won. I have slightly wavy hair, easy to straighten and style. I did try it a few times, and it just didn’t work well for me.

It was super easily to flow dry and we didn’t get fly aways like we always do with Just a rough dry. One client didn’t even want me to style her hair since it looked amazing with the blow dry it looked shiny and sleek.

But this stuff is great on my thicker haired clients. It has a light fragrance to it, not too much, a sort of powdery scent to it. Overall, great product on thick haired clients. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best suited for fine hair I recently was blessed enough to have the opportunity to test out Matrix’s new Mega Sleek serum in exchange for my honest review. I was very excited to try this product out on myself and other hair types. Upon receiving this product I was surprised the packaging was glass. It was a smaller bottle than I had imagined it to be. The biggest complaint I had for this product was that I did not care for the smell. I was expecting for an oil similar to Matrix’s Food for Soft oil with a pleasant smell and thicker consistency. I was honestly surprised to see so many reviews mentioning they liked the smell of this product (to each their own.) While this product has great selling points like promises of 96 hour frizz control, and heat protection for up to 450 degrees. I did not find that held true to last quite that long. I love knowing that it is offering heat protection on mid length to ends, but of course a separate heat protection should be applied closer to roots that won’t leave hair looking greasy. It is accurate to say the product does activate and offer its optimal frizz protection and sleek management once heat has been applied. I have thick core hair and found myself needing more of this hair oil in comparison to other thicker oils I usually use. I think this is best suited for fine or thin hair types. I found it also really benefit curly haired girlies. Truthfully in the future I would opt to repurchase Matrix’s Food for Soft hair oil as opposed to Matrix’s Mega Sleek hair oil.
