Gray Hair Application Guide
Gray hair is completely depigmented hair, meaning it lacks natural melanin. Because of this, successful gray coverage requires adding enough pigment depth and warmth to replace what the hair no longer has naturally.
0%–30% Gray Hair
For dark bases levels 1–5, add a Natural/Deep (.0) shade to reinforce coverage and density. For lighter bases levels 6–10, add a Gold/Yellow (.3) shade to improve pigment adhesion and prevent the result from looking hollow or translucent.
31%–70% Gray Hair
¾ desired shade + ¼ supporting shade at the same level.
71%–100% Gray Hair
½ desired shade + ½ shade one level darker than the desired result
Note: When the target result is dark or neutral, use a Natural/Deep (.0) shade for maximum opacity. When the target result is light, warm, beige, or blonde, include a Gold/Yellow (.3) reflect to help rebuild warmth and improve color anchoring on resistant gray hair.
