Developed as a corrective cleansing system that helps neutralize unwanted yellow tones while removing residue buildup that can dull blonde hair. Enriched with proteins, amino acids, humectants, and conditioning agents, it supports tone maintenance without relying exclusively on heavy cosmetic coatings. The result is a cleaner, brighter, and cooler-looking blonde with improved manageability and refreshed fiber appearance.

First, Diagnose the Canvas
Violet pigments are designed to visually counteract yellow tones. They are most effective on pale yellow to yellow undertones commonly found in blonde, silver, gray, white, and lightened hair. Hair exhibiting strong orange, copper, or red warmth may require a blue or blue-violet correction system for optimal results.
The MEVYS Cool Violet Shampoo performs best when unwanted warmth is predominantly yellow. It is not intended to be the primary correction tool for strong orange, copper, or red reflects. Before applying, identify four key factors:
Level: Is the hair level 7, 8, 9, 10, gray, white, silver, or platinum?
Underlying Warmth: Is the warmth pale yellow, yellow, yellow-orange, orange, or copper?
Porosity: Does the hair absorb moisture quickly, feel rough, appear over-lightened, or show signs of chemical sensitization?
Goal: Is the client seeking soft beige-cool refinement, icy blonde enhancement, silver brightening, or simple yellow control?
First-Time Use Recommendation
If using the shampoo for the first time, perform a strand test and begin with the shortest recommended processing time. Hair porosity, previous chemical services, underlying warmth, and existing tone can significantly influence pigment uptake and final results.
Timing Guide by Level
Level 7 — Medium Blonde
Undertone: Yellow-orange to orange
Timing: Test for 5–10 minutes only
Expected Result: May help soften visible warmth, but is unlikely to create a cool blonde or icy result. Strong orange undertones generally require blue or blue-violet correction for optimal neutralization.
Level 8 — Light Blonde
Undertone: Orange-yellow to yellow
Timing: 7–12 minutes
Expected Result: Helps reduce yellow warmth and may create a softer, cooler beige-blonde appearance while improving overall tone clarity.
Level 9 — Very Light Blonde
Undertone: Yellow
Timing: 5–8 minutes
Expected Result: Helps create a cleaner, cooler-looking blonde with improved brass control and enhanced blonde brightness.
Level 10 — Lightest Blonde
Undertone: Pale yellow
Timing: 2–5 minutes
Expected Result: Helps create a cooler-looking blonde with the potential for icy, pearl, or soft platinum refinement depending on porosity, processing time, and existing tone. Monitor closely to avoid over-depositing violet pigment.
White / Platinum / Silver Hair
Undertone: Pale yellow staining, oxidation, dullness, or environmental discoloration
Timing: 1–3 minutes
Expected Result: Helps brighten and refresh the appearance of white, silver, and platinum hair while reducing visible yellowing. Highly porous areas may develop a temporary lavender cast if over-processed.
Gray / Natural Silver Hair
Undertone: Yellowing caused by oxidation, minerals, pollution, UV exposure, smoke, or styling product residue
Timing: 2–5 minutes
Expected Result: Helps create a cleaner, brighter silver-gray appearance and reduce unwanted yellow cast without dramatically altering the natural silver tone.
High-Porosity Blonde Hair
Undertone: Pale yellow, uneven yellow, or previously over-lightened hair
Timing: 1–3 minutes maximum
Expected Result: Rapid pigment uptake may occur. Hair can appear noticeably cooler in a short amount of time. Monitor continuously to avoid violet staining, smoky appearance, or uneven tonal absorption.
Highly Porous Blonde Ends
Undertone: Uneven pale yellow or over-lightened areas
Timing: 30 seconds–3 minutes
Expected Result: Very rapid pigment deposition. Closely monitor porous ends to avoid violet grabbing, patchiness, or excessive coolness compared to the rest of the hair.
Recommended Frequency
Mild Brassiness: Once weekly
Moderate Brassiness: 1–2 times weekly
High-Maintenance Platinum, Silver, or Gray Hair: 2–3 times weekly as needed
Note: For enhanced blonde maintenance, pair the Cool Violet Shampoo with the MEVYS Cool Violet Mask and Conditioner to help balance tonal correction, cosmetic conditioning, and moisture support according to the hair's porosity and level of lightening.
