Knowing your hair need's is a must when it comes to selecting and utilizing new beauty products. All hair types may benefit from the clarifying shampoo, however, because this is a deep-cleansing shampoo, the way it is applied directly affects scalp barrier balance and fiber integrity. To avoid saturation, use the following guide:
Normal / Balanced Scalp: Apply a small amount (nickel-sized), emulsify in hands before applying, focus primarily on the scalp, message for 30-45 seconds; always follow with conditioner or mask.
Why: A balanced scalp does not produce excessive sebum. Over-massaging or double-cleansing could: Disrupt the hydrolipidic film, trigger compensatory oil production or Increase transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Normal Scalp (Low Styling / Low Oil): Use a small to moderate amount. Concentrate only on the root area. Massage gently. Follow immediately with hydration.
Why: Because the surfactant system is strong, even at pH 5–6.5 , the scalp barrier can become temporarily depleted, the cuticle may feel slightly lifted, lengths may feel dry if overexposed. This scalp benefits from minimal contact time.
Oily Scalp: Saturate thoroughly with water and apply moderate amount. Massage 60–90 seconds at the root and rinse well. Apply conditioner only mid-length to ends
Why: The ALS/ALES system effectively solubilizes lipids: removes excess sebum, reduces follicular congestion, restores lightweight root movement. Longer massage is beneficial here because oil must be properly emulsified to be removed. Repeat every 1–2 weeks depending on oil production.
Who Should Avoid Clarifying Shampoo?
