The Hummingbird is the next level in the evolution of hair color applicators. Invented by a hairdresser with 15 years in the salon, Dye Candy comes with an understanding of how best hair color should be applied and our design is all about giving you the best of tools to support your hair color artistry. After years of engineering, our goal was to provide the best hair color applicator possible. The Hummingbird is the first hair dye bottle developed for use in an upright position which gives the hair colorist superior ergonomics for ease of use. Specifically designed for all liquid and light creams, Demi and permanent colors, toners, color gels and glosses, our dye bottle delivers precision and control unlike typical squeeze applicators with its mess free flow control.
The Hummingbird required years of engineering to allow it to perform in an upright position, pumping hair color up from the bottom, allowing maximum visibility and eliminating the need to put the bottle down, or repeatedly shake color down like typical hair color bottles. When hair color services require speed and precision our patented flow control hair color bottle will ensure even hair color removal and toning on bleached hair minimizing over processing to reach the ideal hair tone when doing color correction.
We save time and eliminate mess when a bowl and brush are not suitable for liquid color formulations, but the basic hair dye bottle does not deliver the precision needed for your color service. The Hummingbird is a specialized tool that makes these color applications faster and easier. Unlike most slant tip bottles, our slanted tip has a nozzle that sits completely sideways, gliding through the hair effortlessly so the hair color can be applied quickly and evenly. Our slant tip was meticulously designed to create partings which can be as delicate or large as you desire. Our no leak bottle and mixing cap ensures both you and your clients will stay free of mess.
The Hummingbird hair dye applicator can be used both at the chair and the bowl, and is ideal for working in between hair foils, fast root touch ups, speedy hair color removal treatments, root shadows and root smudging, as well as all over hair color applications. Many hair colorists also find The Hummingbird helpful for bleach bottle applications, especially when using cream bleach or bleach baths and it’s especially ideal as a gloss bottle that will work with any brand of liquid color.
The separate leak proof mixing cap allows thorough hair color mixing with no worries about mess and eliminates the need to hold a finger over the nozzle, unlike the typical dye bottle that has an open hole at the top. The long slant tip nozzle gives beautiful clean partings without snagging the hair, reducing application time. Our slanted tip nozzle can also be used to spread hair color so that hands can remain clean. The color bottle material was chosen to reduce hand fatigue, fits perfectly in the hand and features embossed measurements on the bottle in both mls and ounces that won’t wash off.

The Hummingbird hair dye bottle is not recommended for heavy cream, mask formulations or those that can only be applied with a bowl and brush. A good rule of thumb is, anything that will work in a hair color bottle, will work in a Hummingbird.
